Get Involved in ISPA!

Want to get involved in ISPA? We currently have opportunities to volunteer at the annual fall conference or join a committee. Please email the committee chair if you're interested in joining.

Professional Standards and Ethics Committee

This committee establishes, reviews, and endeavors to maintain the professional standards of school psychology and school psychologists in Idaho. It establishes due process procedures for hearing alleged violations of the Code of Ethics, and hears cases of alleged violations of the Code of Ethics. 

Conference Committee 

This committee helps to plan and coordinate the annual fall conference.

Social Committee

This committee arranges for all in person and technological social events, arranges for all fundraising events at the annual conference, and arranges for social media postings.

Awards/ Scholarship Committee

This committee develops a selection process for identifying the recipients of ISPA awards, confers awards at the annual meeting, communicates this information to local and state media, and creates a selection process for any scholarships offered by ISPA.

Government and Professional Relations (GPR) Committee

This committee informs the Executive Board and general membership of ISPA of current and proposed state and federal legislation which might affect ISPA or its objectives, acts as a liaison between the Association and the State Legislature in matters of communication when appropriate, and pursues other activities related to the state legislature as may be requested by the Executive Board.

Recruitment Committee

This committee recruits students to the profession of school psychology, attracts talented pools of prospective school psychologists to the state of Idaho, and encourages members to be active participants in our Association. This may include arranging speaking engagements at local higher education institutions, attending conferences such as NASP to promote working in Idaho when funds are available through the Association or Association partnerships, and coordinating with other ISPA Board Members to develop School Psychology Awareness (SPAW) activities.

Membership Committee

This committee oversees membership activities including: maintaining/updating current membership data (mailing addresses, e-mail addresses, phone numbers), promoting membership activities through contact with regional representatives, responding to members’ needs regarding payment questions (in coordination with the treasurer) or login/password information, and providing membership counts and status to the ISPA Board.

Professional Development Committee

This committee promotes professional development through ISPA, ensures that the professional development offered through ISPA targets the NASP practice domains, and conducts and maintains the necessary data collection for NASP provider status.
